Our Lady of Czestochowa Icon is one of the oldest and was written on Mary's table top from the house in Nazareth by Luke the Evangelist.
The Icon is well-known and greatly revered both in the East and in the West. The Czestochowa Icon visiting us is a faithful copy of the miraculous Jasna Góra Icon of the original size, made by the traditional iconographic method.
It shows Mary as a guide, pointing to Christ with her right hand, and leading all people to God – the Giver of life. As our loving Mother,
she protects life.

his is the first time that such a pilgrimage has gone from East to West. Preparations for the Ocean to Ocean Pilgrimage took place at
Jasna Góra. The copy of the Czestochowa Icon of the Mother of God was placed by the original at Jasna Góra on 28
th January 2012 and ceremonially blessed by Archbishop Stanislaw Nowak, the Archbishop of Czestochowa.
On 14
th June 2012, the Black Madonna Icon reached Vladivostok and was raised above the shore of the Pacific Ocean. Since then she has traveled over 11,000 miles through 23 countries including:
Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Latvia and Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Austria, Lichtenstein, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, Ireland, France, Spain and Portugal.
In August 2013 Our Lady of Czestochowa arrived on the shores of North America.
